DATAQUAD 2000 is Italy’s first interactive guided system for building designers and waterproofing installers.
It is an invaluable practical tool for designing continuous roofing waterproofing systems and drafting specifications or bids with the accompanying detail drawings and product data sheets With the wide range of options that can be selected when loading the program, DATAQUAD 2000 provides over 1,000,000 different design solutions!
DATAQUAD 2000 lets you choose specification clauses for all IMPER ITALIA distilled bitumen-polymer waterproofing membranes, as well as for built-up systems featuring ADEVAPOR membrane as either an intermediate ply for insulting board, or as a vapor shield or total vapor barrier.
In addition, the DATAQUAD 2000 menu bar provides two icon buttons for copying and pasting drawings and text in other programs.

Stemming from the extensive experience that IMPER and the installers it serves have built up over many years, DATAQUAD 2000 has now reached its sixth version, celebrating a decade of success with a new issue that incorporates an array of improvements over version 5.2.

The first DATAQUAD program came out on floppy disk in 1989, in a version that, though not interactive, was the first computerized tool of its kind on the Italian market.

The 6.2 program features the following major improvements over version 5.2:
• ERABAC high compressive strength glass fiber insulation board can now be loaded;
• all files for membranes and insulation complying with the new UNI-EN standards have been added;
• information is included regarding waterproofing membranes other than the standard types loaded by the program;
• updated data sheets for all IMPER products contemplated by the program have been included;
• a key has been added for accessing and downloading information from the News section of the IMPER Italia website;
• video and presentation are now loaded directly, rather than from a CD as in the previous version;
• Acrobat Reader and QwickTime are loaded via links to ensure that the latest available free version can be used;
• wherever possible, separation layers are specified with micropore polyethylene film so that the are compatible with the latest electrical pulse inspection techniques;
• clear instructions are provided for installation with Vista and Win7 in a variety of situations;
• procedures for running the program with VISTA and WIN 7 have been improved, in particular as regards the online Help functions.

How the program works
DATAQUAD 2000 is an expert system with a knowledge base that prevent user error. It is organized as interactive guided design path based on the project stages contemplated by UNI 8627.
As required by this standard, the process is divided into three stages:

Functional specifications
(information concerning the function of the system to be designed)

General requirements
(information concerning the primary components of the system to be designed)

Detail design
(detailed information concerning the primary and secondary components of the system to be designed)

Consequently, the DATAQUAD 2000 program asks the user a series of questions regarding:
• the function and use of the roof to be waterproofed, as well as the hygrothermal conditions to which it is exposed (functional specifications);
• the roof slope, type of thermal insulation, and type of protection to be used (general requirements).
Once answers have been provided, the program gives the user step-by-step guidance in “building up” all the components of the roof waterproofing system, starting from the roof substrate. As it does so, the program automatically and continuously checks the interactions and compatibility of the elements (and the layers) that make up the roofing system as a whole.
Whenever the user chooses an option, guided design paths (around 200,000 in all) open and/or close, preventing user error. Everything is explained in detail through on-line help functions. This ensures that the user is aware of all choices that the program recommends or requires.
Layer by layer, the user thus “builds” and “loads” the roofing system design together with the specification clauses and notes that will be used on the construction drawing.
Finally, the user can save and print the entire design, which can also be revised later to adapt it to new needs.
