BS OHSAS 18001 CERTIFICATIONIMPER ITALIA S.p.A.’s Occupational Health and Safety Policy starts from top management, which, by providing the necessary, human, instrumental and economic resources, is committed to pursuing and disseminating goals for improving its workers’ health and safety (and the associated programs) as an integral part of its work and as a strategic contribution to the company’s more general aims.
Management has thus issued this document and circulated it to all employees and other people working for the company.
Management is determined to ensure that:
• Safety issues are regarded as essential in planning new activities or reviewing existing ones.
• All ordinary, extraordinary and emergency events are handled promptly and effectively.
• All workers are trained, informed and aware of the importance of performing their work safely and assuming responsibility for occupational health and safety, both directly and through their safety representatives.
• Everyone in the entire corporate organization (managers, supervisors, systems specialists, purchasing and maintenance services, operatives, etc.) participates in accordance with their job responsibilities in reaching assigned safety goals, thus ensuring that:
- all machines, systems and equipment, workplaces, working methods and organizational aspects are designed in such a way as to safeguard employees’ health, company property, users, and the community in which the company does business;
- all workers are informed of risks and hazards at the company, and are provided with appropriate training that is tailored to their specific duties and updated whenever changes occur;
- all issues arising during work are addressed rapidly, effectively and diligently;
• Preventive action is promoted, as well as a commitment to preventing accidents and occupational diseases.
• Cooperation is promoted between company resources and the outside agencies dealing with health and safety.
• All current legislation and regulations are respected, appropriate procedures are formulated, and all operations are conducted in compliance with corporate standards.
• The need to prevent accidents, injury and occupational diseases is borne in mind during all stages of work, from design to system operation and maintenance, including the operations involved in cleaning workplaces, machinery and equipment.
• The objectives of continual improvement and prevention are pursued.
To achieve these goals, moreover, IMPER ITALIA is committed to optimizing its production processes, managing them efficiently, effectively and economically. To this end, the company makes sure that all personnel participate fully in its policies and goals, and implements an ISO 9001 certified quality management system and a safety management system complying with BS OHSAS 18001, both oriented towards continual improvement.. Here, the company's focus is on prevention, with programs that involve its own employees and those of its service suppliers and contractors. The company encourages all action that can ensure that its activities do not entail significant risks for occupational health and safety.This document is available to all interested parties who submit a request, and is also posted on the company’s website.
It was drafted, and will be updated as necessary, in accordance with the type of job contracts involved and the results of initial analysis and subsequent monitoring programs. In addition, this policy will be reviewed at least once a year together with the improvement targets for occupational health and safety in the course of the management review.
